Marcia Hunt, Director of College and Academic Advising

Marcia Hunt, Director of College & Academic Advising, is the former president of both the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC). Currently, Mrs. Hunt serves on the Board of Trustees of the College Board, representing ten states on the Board.

Mrs. Hunt is the recipient the Excellence in Counseling Award from the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools, their highest honor. She is also the recipient of the Larry West Award from the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling, their highest honor.

Mrs. Hunt has served on the United States Presidential Scholars Review Committee as well as university counselor advisory boards, including those of The University of Chicago, the University of South Carolina, Northwestern University, Miami of Ohio and the University of Michigan. She currently sits on Advisory Boards for the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University. She presents regularly at national and regional conferences and has been quoted in national news media such as CNN, Huffington Post, Newsweek, and Smart Money.

She earned her B.A. in political science from Syracuse University and her M.S. from Canisius College.

Christopher J. Gruber Vice President and Dean of Admission/Financial Aid
Davidson College in Davidson, North Carolina


Chris Gruber is the Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid at Davidson College, a position held since 2005.  Prior to Davidson, Chris was the Director of Admission at the University of Richmond in Virginia.  

Gruber has developed curricula and coordinated seminars for new professionals in college admission and counseling; created a widely known seminar for secondary school counselors and families on financial aid; and has spoken on the college search, admission, and financial aid at high schools, college events and community-based organizations around the country and world, which he considers to be a great privilege.  



Rachelle Hernandez, Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment Management
University of Texas at Austin


Rachelle Hernandez serves as Senior Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Texas at Austin. Her portfolio includes the offices of admissions, enrollment analytics, financial aid, registrar, student success initiatives, and the college-to-career initiative. Ms. Hernandez is establishing and implementing student-centered policies and practices designed to improve access, affordability and student success through Texas Advance Commitment and First-Generation Initiative.

Ms. Hernandez is a frequent national speaker on admissions and access, student recruitment, enrollment management, and student access. She has served the higher education community in various professional association leadership roles and currently serves as co-director of the National Association for College Admission Counseling Chief Enrollment Management Officer Seminar and as a member of the College Board SAT Advisory committee, the ACT Higher Education Council, and the Access and Diversity Collaborative Advisory Council.

Ms. Hernandez holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
 


James G. Nondorf, Vice President for Enrollment/Student Advancement/Dean of Admissions/Financial Aid

James G. Nondorf is the Vice President for Enrollment and Student Advancement and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at the University of Chicago. At UChicago, Jim oversees College Admissions, Graduate Admissions, Financial Aid, and the Office of Career Advancement. He has also served as chair of the SAT Committee and been an adviser for the College Board. Prior to his tenure at UChicago, he served as Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Director of Student Outreach and Associate Director of Admissions at Yale University.

Jim earned a BA in economics from Yale University and an MLA in ethics from Valparaiso University.
